About this Skyrim Race
The Dunmer are the race you need if you want to create a battlemage: they start out with a +10 bonus to Destruction and already have the Sparks spell. Should you pick up another skill such as One-Handed you can create great dual-wielding combinations. Just consider what a dagger and a Sparks spell can do once combined…
And with your bonus to Alchemy you can even poison that dagger! Surely you’ll need to raise the skill level to 40 with a couple of useful perks before this actually becomes effective, but once it does you can reign supreme!
With Alteration you can protect yourself from everything ranging from Fire to Ice, Shock and Magicka. Or how about paralysing your enemy first and then blasting away with dual wielded Flames spell?
If you need to get somewhere undetected you can either use your Sneak skill or your training in Illusion with the Invisibility skill. Surely you’ll need to invest a few perk points in either skill but once you have you’ll find you can get anywhere without being detected.
A bonus to Light Armor will make it easier for your Dunmer to defend himself or herself, but don’t expect miracles from Light Armor. Try to combine it with Alteration as much as possible and you’ll be fine.
Weakness of the Dunmer
Dunmer can make a great mage, but every once in a while you’ll run into a fellow mage. Especially if they are skilled in the Ward spell then it’ll be difficult to do some damage if you haven’t leveled a non-magic combat skill. Don’t rely to heavily on your Destruction spell. Also be very careful with Bretons as they have a 50% resistance to Magicka.
